On October 13, 2020, the webinar MUNDO TECH: Experiences of Public-Private Technology-Based Companies in Argentina was held, featuring a presentation by the President and Executive Director of LA. TE ANDES Salta Business Group GEOMAP/CONICET, Roberto Hernández, alongside Sergio Romano (Manager of Technology Liaison, CONICET) and Fernanda Salgado (Commercial and Technology Transfer Manager at Y-TEC).
On this occasion, Roberto Hernández presented LA.TE. ANDES. Technology-Based Center for Open Innovation in Industry and Science. During the presentation, the growth was described from The Calculation of Geological Time—the idea that launched this productive hub located in Salta, Argentina—toward the expansion of New Fields of Application linking the productive sector and science in Argentina and Latin America. In this regard, the Closed Innovation experiences were detailed, successfully executed with business units already in the Development or Production stages (Cron.Ar, including measurements via Fission Traces, (U-Th-Sm)/He, and U-Pb), and the Commercialization Plan featuring Open Innovation lines comprising the Andino 3D unit (2D-3D and 4D structural modeling software) and Cri. Ar (Cryogenic Rock Magnetometer, High-Resolution Paleomagnetism), both with concrete potential to form spin-off developments.
LA.TE. ANDES emphatically presented to the audience the initiatives for synergistic work with clients and potential clients in the search for solutions to specific problems, highlighting the capacity and versatility of the equipment available today and the trained technical staff at its disposal. In this way, the possibilities for R&D&I through mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Raman microspectrometry were highlighted, showcasing the new challenges linked to Open Innovation initiatives in the fields of bioanalytics, biomedicine, food quality, forensics, materials, archaeology, and other disciplines.
