IsoplotR

LA.TE. ANDES maintains a mirror of IsoplotR, the free, open-source statistical toolkit developed in R language.

Used in isotopic geochronology to process, analyze, and plot radiometric dating data, it was developed by Pieter Vermeesch as a modern, open-source alternative to Kenneth R. Ludwig’s older Isoplot program.

Key Features of IsoplotR

  • U–Pb (uranium-lead) dating.
  • Ar–Ar dating.
  • Rb–Sr, Sm–Nd, Lu–Hf, Re–Os isochrones, among others.
  • Concordance diagrams (Wetherill and Tera-Wasserburg).
  • Calculation of concordance and discordance ages.
  • Weighted averages and isotopic regressions.
  • Age distribution graphs (KDE, histograms, cumulative curves).
