Focuses on events such as crystallization, metamorphism, or volcanism. Focuses on exhumation, erosion, and tectonic uplift.
Generally operates at high temperatures. Generally operates at low to intermediate temperatures.
Reconstructs the chronology of geological events. Reconstructs the thermal and exhumation history.
