Thermochronology is providing new tools to better understand the tectonic history of the Andes.
At the AAPG Rockies and Andes Geosciences Technology Workshop 2026, held in Lima, Peru, LA.TE. ANDES S.A. shared new results related to the tectonic evolution of the Subandean system.
Our General Technical Coordinator and Director Juan I. Hernández participated as Keynote Speaker, presenting:
Multiple Thermochronometers Applied to the Quantitative Analysis of Pre-Andean Events: The Southern Subandean Fold and Thrust Belt of Bolivia – A Complex Scenario.
The study integrates multiple thermochronological systems, numerical modeling and geological constrains, to reconstruct the thermal evolution and exhumation history of the Southern Subandean belt in Bolivia.

Additionally, Alejandra Dalenz Farjat from GEOMAP S.A. presented research addressing the structural evolution of the northern Subandean region and its exploration implications for southern Peru.
These contributions highlight the ongoing collaboration between LA.TE. ANDES S.A. and GEOMAP S.A. in applying thermochronology to Andean geology and its natural resources.
