On Wednesday, October 18, Roberto M. Hern\u00e1ndez, Esq., delivered a lecture titled \u201cUnderstanding Time in Geosciences, Applied to Petroleum Systems in the Central Andes: Reducing Exploration Risk \u2013 La Te Andes S.A.\u201d Organized by the Geological Society of Peru as part of the \u201cGeological Wednesdays\u201d series, the lecture took place in the institution\u2019s auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The focus of the lecture was on La.Te. Andes\u2019 proposal as a means to resolve the timing of the Central Andes petroleum system, emphasizing the variables of the petroleum system that remain unknown or unresolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cThe knowledge recently gained through deep drilling in Argentina and Bolivia has led to new insights into what we do and do not know about the petroleum system, particularly regarding the spatial and temporal distribution of processes related to both pre-Andean and Andean tectonics, rock rheology, and the inapplicability of geometric models in light of the new data.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
To address these issues, GEOMAP and CONICET decided to create a new system for transferring geoscience knowledge to the oil and gas industry, taking into account the demands and tight deadlines inherent in oil contracts.
